• Implantation
If Oncologist Diagnoses the Female with Cancer and if you are undergoing a Cancer treatment, then the treatment will affect your Fertility. So there are a number of different options, a fertility specialist will discuss with you. Talking with a fertility specialist is very important, as it will provide you with valuable information about the risks of particular treatments may pose to your fertility, and discuss about the effective options such as Embryo Cryopreservation; Ovarian Tissue Cryopreservation and Ovarian Suppression and more options are available to you.
Embryo Cryopreservation
Embryo Cryopreservation is a method of Fertility Preservation and it has routinely been used for storing Female embryos after In Vitro Fertilization (IVF). Put a Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) injection for 2 weeks continuously, because this injection is used in stimulating the Ovarian. Then the injections of Follicle-Stimulating Hormone (FSH) must be started within the first 3 days of the Menstrual cycle.
Cryopreservation of Unfertilized Oocyte
Cryopreservation of Unfertilized Oocyte is an option, particularly for Women who do not have a Male partner or prefer not to use Donor sperm and those with Religious or Ethical objections to Embryo Freezing. Same process of Embryo Preservation is used for Ovarian Preservation. In this process, Ovarian stimulation is needed. Oocyte Cryopreservation should be done only in centers with the necessary skills.
Ovarian Tissue Cryopreservation
Ovarian Tissue Cryopreservation is one of the transplantation procedure performed only in centers with the necessary knowledge. A concern with restoration of ovarian tissue is the potential for reintroducing Cancer cells.
Ovarian Suppression
It is an inadequate evidence related to the safety and effectiveness of Gonadotropin-Releasing Hormone (GnRH) analogs and other means of Ovarian Suppression on Fertility Preservation. So Women interested in this technique are encouraged to participate in the trial in clinics.
Ovarian Transposition
Ovarian Transposition is also called as an Oophoropexy. It can be advised for when Pelvic radiation is administered as a Cancer treatment. Because of the risk of back to migration of the ovaries, this Ovarian Transposition should be executed as close to the radiation treatment as possible.
Conservative Gynaecologic Surgery
Conservative Gynaecologic Surgery is suggested that Radical Trachelectomy should be restricted to stage IA2-IB disease with less than 2 cm in diameter and less than 10 mm in invasion. In the treatment of Conservative Gynecologic Surgery for other Gynecologic Malignancies, Intercession to spare fertility have generally centered on doing Less-radical Surgery and/or Lower-dose Chemotherapy with the purpose of the reproductive organs sparing as much as possible.
Other methods
Other special concern in Breast and Gynecologic Malignancies are the possibility that Fertility Preservation interventions and it is also subsequent Pregnancy that may increase the risk of Cancer occurring again. In most of the survivals, an increase in the risk of Breast Cancer is recurrence with Pregnancy. So many considerations are supporting longer duration of Hormonal Therapies for Estrogen Receptor/Progesterone Receptor-positive breast Cancer.
If you are diagnosed with a the Cancer, where the Cancer treatment option may affect your sperm quality or production, you may wish to consider Sperm Cryopreservation, Hormonal Therapy, and Implantation in order to preserve your chance of having a family in the future. Sperm freezing is an option for the majority of men, even those with poor sperm quality prior to undergoing a Cancer treatment.
Sperm Cryopreservation
Sperm Cryopreservation is a most effective method to treat the Male infertility patients and Oncologists should discuss about Sperm Banking with appropriate patients. It is the method of freezing and storing of the sperm. It is strongly recommended that the sperms are collected prior before starting the treatment because the quality of the sperm sample and DNA integrity may be mutual concession even after a single treatment session. Although planned Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) allows the successful freezing and future use of a very limited amount of sperm.
Hormonal Gonado Protection
Hormonal therapy in men is not effective in preserving fertility in men during highly administered Chemotherapy.
Other methods
Men should be advised of a potentially higher risk of Genetic damage in sperm stored after initiation of therapy. Testicular Tissue or Spermatogonial Cryopreservation, Transplantation or Testis Xenografting and Implantation are the various methods which is done for the removal, freezing, and storage of testicular tissue that can be placed back in the body after Cancer treatment. It is not yet been tested successfully in humans.
