IUI Basic ART procedure
The most commonly used basic type of ART is Intrauterine Insemination (also known as Artificial Insemination). In Intrauterine Insemination, Sperm is obtained from the Male through Masturbation and then placed in the Woman's Vagina, Cervix, or Uterus with a syringe connected with IUI Catheter. Intrauterine Insemination is used to overcome medical conditions that interfere with the ability of sperm to reach the egg and fertilize an egg.
The common techniques are:
• IVF
• ICSI
• Egg or Embryo Donor
• Surrogacy (Gestational Carrier)
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF):
In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is an expensive and complex procedure than Intrauterine Insemination. IVF is very helpful and hopeful treatment for unexplained Infertility. In IVF, the Eggs are retrieved from the Women's ovary through the ovum pickup needle (Hormonal treatment with injections and tablets are given to them for the stimulation of ovaries to produce multiple eggs) and fertilize the eggs in a Petri dish, culture the resulting Embryos in the laboratory for three to five days, and then transfer some or all of the Embryos back into the Woman's Uterus for implantation.
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI)
Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) is a form of In Vitro Fertilization in which Fertilization occurs outside the body. First, egg cells are retrieved and transferred into a special media in a petri dish. Then a single Sperm is injected through a fine needle into the center of an egg cell to aid in the process of fertilization. If successful, the cell will divide and form the beginning stages of an Embryo. If necessary, the DNA of a single cell from an Embryo may be checked to ensure that various Genetic disorders are not present. Typically, several egg cells are retrieved and fertilized in the laboratory for 3-5 days, then the resulting Embryos are transferred into the Uterus to increase the chances that one will implant and turn into a successful Pregnancy.
Sperm Donor
Donated Sperms are used as an option for couples whose men does not produce sperms or very low number of sperms. Donated sperms can be used for procedures like IUI or IVF .
Egg or Embryo Donor
Donor eggs are used for Women who do not produce healthy eggs that can not be fertilized. The donor egg is retrieved from the ovary after giving hormonal treatments to obtain multiple eggs. The donated egg is fertilized with husband's sperm or donor's sperm. The resulting embryos are transferred into the uterus to increase the chances that one will implant and turn into a successful pregnancy.
Egg or Embryo Donation may be particularly helpful for women who:
• Women with Ovarian Insufficiency
• Women under treatment with Chemotherapy or Radiotherapy
• Women whose ovaries are removed surgically
• Women who were born without Ovaries
• Women who are carriers of Genetic diseases
• Women who are Infertile because of poor egg quality
• Women who are nearing Menopausal age
Embryo Donation can be done by couples who have completed their families with IVF treatment. Embryo donation also called as Embryo Adoption. The donated Embryo is transferred to the recipient's Uterus. 50% of transfers with donated frozen Embryos result in pregnancy, and 40% result in a live birth.

Then after fertilization occurs the resulting embryos will be transferred into surrogate Women Uterus. The resulting child will be biologically related to surrogate mother. Surrogacy treatment can be used alternatively when a Woman produces healthy eggs but is unable to carry a Pregnancy to term.
Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer is an Assisted Reproductive procedure which involves retrieving egg's from Women ovaries and fertilized it with Men's sperm in the laboratory and transferring them into Fallopian Tube within 24 hours of fertilization. The difference between IVF and Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer is that the transfer of Embryos into the tube requires an extra surgical procedure called Laparoscopy.
